We got a new Sky box yesterday which fixed the problem for about 4 hrs and then this morning it was knacked again. The engineer has offered to re-fit our dish somewhere very high on the roof to improve our reception for some under the table cash. The black market is well and truly alive.

I've just seen Michael physically clip his monitor round the ear like he was a headmaster in a posh boarding school disciplining some rowdy toff brat...quite amusing, although I'm sure he doesn't think so. I think he's having a bad day cos he keeps gurning at his PC and making noises of deep deep frustration.

I've just discovered the cheapest pub in London, possibly in the South East. It's called the Angel and it's in that scummy bit South East of Oxford St at the Tottenham Court Rd end. Guess how much 3 1/2 pints of lager and a diet coke cost...go on, go on?

Sky telly is totally broken. The engineer is coming at a really useful time - between 11 and 2. Don't they know we have to work! (well at least turn up to work and look busyish) I've had to bribe my sister to come over and house sit but I feel guilty as she's really busy preparing for her final show for her impending graduation from Art College. Oh well, I'd probably die if I had to watch normal telly for more than an hour.

I don't think this is true at all...

You are an AKMA.

You stand out from the crowd because of deeply held beliefs in the unknown.

You ponder endlessly and treat everyone, even fucknozzles, with respect.

WWAD (what would AKMA do) guides your actions.

I'm in a bit of a mood today, well a sulk actually. Last night I met up with a girl I've been seeing fairly infrequently (about 8 times in 14 months) for the very last time. The reason for the infrequency of our meetings is mainly geographical as she's lived in Edinburgh for 70% of that time, however, I'm still not sure how I only managed to see her 5 times in the 4 months she lived in London. Anyway, I like this girl a lot, however, as she's heading back to New Zealand for the rest of her life I was hoping to drag out the farewell as long as possible, i.e. hoping she'd stay over. She on the other hand had the opposite point of view, when the bar finally kicked us out onto the cold pavement that is Clapham High St she wanted to go home saying that she didn't want to get attached. My negotiation skills were firing on all cylinders but alas, no success. I didn't even want or need sex and I actually told her this but she was pretty determined to make it a short goodbye. So the 345 bus obliging came almost immediately and then typically tried to leave without her as we acted out a Hollywood type embrace and farewell, and she was off. So the question I ask is, are short goodbyes all they're cracked up to be? People always say they don't like "long goodbyes" but I think I prefer them.

I'm pretty bored at work...I probably shouldn't say that on here as some of my colleagues read but, what the heck. Anyway, I've had the time to download the Matrix Re-Loaded trailer and man, I cannot wait to see this film. The 2 min trailer is awesome, with some special effects ideas you will not have seen before. If you didn't like the original Matrix film then you're crazy, but even so watch it again, all becomes clearer the second time around. We had a vote in our office once (well several times actually) - Matrix or Gladiator and the girly girls always vote Gladiator and everyone else (clever people) votes Matrix. You know where you stand! With that piece of insightful psychology, I'll sign off.

So the football season is over. Leeds survived, West Ham went down and Liverpool screwed up and missed out on the Champions League. So what do we do now? I guess I'll follow the NBA playoffs until mid June. July is the real problem month with a total lack of sport.

Purchased my flights to New York today. I'm quite excited. The flights were quite cheap, only £270 and I'm returning from Boston. So I'm spending 5 nights in NYC and 3 in Boston. What can I do - suggestions welcome?

24 got very interesting last night, not one but two scenes of torture! I really like the way Jack managed to manipulate the evil terrorist into thinking that he'd shot his family. I'll bet you anything that the plane with the nuclear bomb takes off and is shot down in the wilderness just where Kim happens to be lost, dodging Cougars, the local police and the local hunters. We still don't know if Bob Warner is legit or not. I believe that Kate didn't know her sister was a terrorist but why wouldn't the father know if he was an informant for the CIA?
