Didn't see Frasier or Niles!
Just had an inpromptu trip to Seattle including a journey up to the top of theSpace Needle. I managed to get a lift to downtown Seattle on Saturday morning and then my friend Anna picked me up and we checked out the needle and then took the ferry to her mum's house over in Kingston. Her mum has a nice waterfront property with views out across Puget Sound to Seattle. You can see the Seattle skyline and the mountains in the distance. In the bay itself there are Orcas and Whales. I definitely saw something big and brown with a fin swimming by one day but I couldn't properly identify it.
So between hanging out there and checking out Seattle I had a good time. I just got the train home this morning. I was keen to take the train (Amtrak Cascades) as I suspected it took a fairly scenic route whereas the bus would just go up the freeway. I was right as the train literally skirts the coastline for about half the journey up. If it had derailed we'd have been dumped in the Pacific ocean. Well, just under two weeks now in Vancouver with not too much to do.
